And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war, And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD. (Numbers 32:20-22)

Now do you see that? 'Guiltless before the Lord.' That's not murder! 'Well, I just don't understand Brother Copeland, I just don't understand why not.' Well, let's go to the 13th chapter of Romans.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. (Romans 13:3-4)

Now those of us that are past our days in the military, those of us that are on the civilian side of the military and warfare, we have our part of this. He says, and I want you to look at that again now; 'he is a minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath on him that does evil'. Now doesn't the Bible say, didn't the apostle Paul write to Timothy who was pastor of a church and say 'pray, first of all brethren I exhort that you pray in behalf of all men, kings and all that are in authority, that the Church might live an honest and godly life'? Huh? Pray, for all of those that are in authority? The apostle Paul said 'pray for me and pray for all ministers of the gospel'. Every police officer, every soldier at arms, every person in the military are part of that prayer. And if we don't pray it - they're in trouble. If we pray it, if do our part of their service, after all they're serving for us; let's think a little bit about what the apostle Paul wrote there when he said that the church live honest, godly, peaceful lives. Now he said pray for those in authority so that that comes to pass. Well he didn't put that in there just to hold the pages up. Our peace, honesty and godliness of life depend on that. There are Christians in the world today that have to lie about being a Christian, or die! That's not living an honest, godly life, amen! You know why? Because they didn't have people like these [indicates West Point Military Academy cadets] backing them up, and a government that will back you up and stand in the gap and take all kinds of ridicule and all kinds of bad, mean talk in the press and everything else so that you and I can come here and have this meeting tonight without having fear of somebody standing over there at the door, guarding what we say!

And I'll tell you it is just as wrong or even worse to expect them to be strong in battle, to expect them to be strong in the face of the enemy and then we just sit around and watch television and talk back to the T.V. because we don't like what they're saying. I just don't understand that stupid senator for doing that! Well, I guess not, you ain't never been a senator! 'Oh, I just don't understand'. Oh listen, I tell you it'll warp anybody's mind to live up there for about five or ten years. Yeah, particularly when people at home are not praying. How would you like to have 150-200 million people cussing you every day? Oh, they need your prayers! Amen.

And then there's the President, God bless his heart. I'll tell you what; they're coming at him from all sides. But thank God we have a man that knows the Lord Jesus Christ and really doesn't care a whole lot about what you and I think about it! I like that. Amen. And I had the privilege of meeting him, I haven't spent a lot of time with him, but I spent enough time with him to learn some things about him when he was Governor of the State of Texas. And I'll tell you what, you can say anything you want to, about him, you can call him anything you want to, accuse him of anything you want to accuse him of, and it just means little to nothing to him. Amen! In all the polls that everybody runs all the time, they might as well be flagpoles as far as he's concerned because he will absolutely pay no attention to it. But I'll tell you what, he pays attention to this [indicates Bible]. Amen. And that's an important thing, and you'll learn more and more why it is as important as it is.
