Still-Lifes of WDCC Art Introduction

My one hundred percent unauthorized homage to this fine art sculpture series began way back. I had wanted the WDCC to produce backdrops from the films to go with the pieces I owned, and eventually drew them myself. I ended up drawing the actual sculptures in still-life studies using oil pastels, as I would a collection of fruit or any other inanimate object. I tried putting one or two up on eBay. Well, any time I had not listed the prints, I had emails asking the likes of, "Can you put this one up again?" or "Have you drawn this or that figurine?".

Perhaps it was the oil pastels which created an 'oil painting' look or perhaps because I had grown up knowing these characters, but my style of drawing these porcelain pieces seemed to compliment them in a way people had not come accross before. One of my favorite comments I received was from a Buyer called Earl from Sacramento, CA, who was kind enough to call me an, “an extraordinary artist with depth and emotion... whose vision breathes new life into old friends... wonderful interpretations of classic Disney!” * I never cease to be touched by my Buyers' comments on how my artwork has brought them pleasure.

After leaving college, despite working in and out of creative areas over the years, I had never pursued selling my artwork just of itself. I have to say that the internet and particularly eBay are platforms for people's gifts to make room for them; and from my experience, bring what they have to a vast group of appreciative people.

I understand I may have brought these renderings 'to the table' in an unorthodox manner. If approached, I would be ready to give whatever kind of credit may be due in whatever is the expected honorable way.
